When our son Landon was born, he spent 4 days in the NICU at Sinai hospital due to low red blood cell count and respiratory issues. At eight weeks of life, Landon enter up back at Children's Hospital at Sinai after contracting a virus. Already having a low red blood cell count, Landon was monitored closely as his numbers again decreased. It was an extremely scary and emotional time for us, but we are so grateful for the care and guidance we received at the hospital, including the follow up care from the head of pediatrics and pediatric hematologist.
Since 2010 I've participated in Sinai Hospital's Race for Our Kids, and on October 6th, I'll be doing it again to help raise money and support for the children's hospital that we were so fortunate to have so close at such a time of need.
